Shou sugi ban (焼杉板) originated in Japan in the 1700’s as a way to weatherproof and preserve wood by means of fire. Now, 300 years later, we’re using the same ancient process not only to create a durable finish, but add a touch of drama.
Crafted at our studio in Northern California. Wrapped grain detail at interior and exterior.
